Polyphenols and Extracellular Vesicles: A New Revolution?

Dr. Ramaroson AndriantsitohainaDr. Ramaroson Andriantsitohaina, from France, will join us this year to present exclusively and for the first time a talk on “Polyphenols and Extracellular Vesicles: A New Revolution?”.

Extracellular vesicles have been well reported as a novel mean of cell-to-cell communication in physiology and pathology.

Dr. Andriantsitohaina was recently the first to prove that polyphenols can act on signaling pathways that interfere with the EVs biogenesis (release and content), and are thus able to control cells' functional properties.

He points out that the combination of polyphenols and EVs can increase their therapeutic potential, for instance:

  1. Plants are able to produce EVs that encapsulate natural components from vegetables, polyphenols for instance
  2. Mammalian cells can be treated with polyphenols and the subsequent EVs produced are enriched in these components
  3. EVs from mammalian cells can be uploaded with polyphenols.

Join us in Polyphenols Applications 2022 and be the first to listen to Dr. Andriantsitohaina review the novel aspects of the interplay between polyphenols and EVs and its potential health benefits in cancer, cardiovascular, metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
