From Polyphenol Metabolism to Precision Nutrition: Advancing Translation to Human Health
Why Do We Respond Differently to Polyphenols? Toward Precision Nutrition. We are pleased to welcome Prof. Pedro Mena Parreño from the University of Parma, Italy, as a speaker at Polyphenols Applications 2026.
He will present: From Polyphenol Metabolism to Precision Nutrition: Advancing Translation to Human Health
One of the key questions in polyphenol science is no longer only what do polyphenols do? but why do individuals respond differently?
Prof. Mena will discuss how inter individual variability in polyphenol metabolism and biological response may shape effects on obesity and cardiometabolic health. His lecture will highlight findings from the Oral Polyphenol Challenge Test, a large acute intervention study in 300 subjects, which identified distinct metabotypes linked to dietary habits, microbial composition, genetic background, and cardiometabolic traits.
He will also discuss how multi omics and advanced analytical platforms are helping to translate polyphenol science into precision nutrition, including preliminary results from the PRE CARE DIET randomized controlled trial.
This talk brings a strategic perspective to Polyphenols Applications 2026: moving from polyphenol intake toward personalized, sustainable, and clinically relevant nutrition strategies.
Join us in Málaga for Polyphenols Applications 2026, where science, nutrition, and innovation will meet to rethink the future of prevention.
