It is a great pleasure to welcome Prof. Doris Marko, University of Vienna, Austria, to Polyphenols Applications 2024 this September in Milan.
Presentation Title: Towards the Potency of Anthocyanin-Rich Extracts to Alleviate Side Effects of Chemotherapy.
About Doris Marko
Doris Marko is a Professor of Food Chemistry and the Head of the Institute of Food Chemistry and Toxicology in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Vienna, Austria. She studied Food Chemistry at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. Starting in the field of preclinical drug development, she acquired profound expertise in the elucidation of molecular mechanisms of bioactive constituents arising from natural sources, focusing predominantly on their anticarcinogenic and chemopreventive effects.
Her research strategy aims at the substantiation of beneficial health effects ranging from basic molecular models to the development of respective in vivo biomarkers, including the assessment of potentially undesired application-limiting effects.
