Processing Waste from Fruits, Vegetables and Oilseeds : Polyphenols Profiles and Potential Applications will be presented by Pr Andreas Schieber during Paris Polyphenols 2012 World Congress

 

Professor Andreas Schieber, co-chairman of Paris Polyphenols 2012 World Congress, attract the attention about the importance of this meeting : “By-products originating from processing of plant-derived raw materials are a rich source of phenolic compounds. In this keynote lecture, current knowledge about the profile of polyphenolics in economically important fruits, vegetables and oilseeds will be summarized and investigations into the utilization of waste streams will be presented”.

Pr Schieber underlines that “particular attention will be given to studies addressing various functional properties of phenolic compounds, for example, antioxidative and antimicrobial activities”.

Furthermore, recent reports about the application of polyphenolics as natural food ingredients to replace synthetic additives will be addressed”, said the professor.
